Synopsis

NO MAN'S LAND PART 66 - STROMY WEATHER The U.S. Marshals outside Gotham City feel a sudden gust and they report it to their leaders. They disregard the event as a "little change in the weather".  The "gust" moves across Gotham and passes through some important places before stopping in a random alley. The gust is Superman, travelling at supersonic speed. Before anyone can notice his presence, he changes his clothing and disguised as Clark Kent, only that his clothes are ripped and he wears them in an awkward fashion in order to mingle with the people of Gotham. However, a certain vigilante is aware of his presence.   Clark is wandering the streets of Gotham when he finds an empty orchard. He uses his X-Ray vision to see if there are any seeds in the ground and he finds a couple of them. The owner of the orchard warns Clark to leave the place at once but Clark explains that he just wants to help him. Clark takes the seeds out and tells the old man that he needs to cut a little bit of the shell of the seed to help it germinate. Clark uses his knowledge from his farm and advises the old man on how to keep the crops growing.   Clark and the old man go out for a walk because Clark wants to see the community garden at the Blue Boys territory. On their way there, Clark notices a young woman covered with a blanket on the sidewalk. Clark tries to check if she is fine but she reacts violently. She tries to explain that she was doing a mission for Oracle but before she can explain herself, Clark tells her to be quiet because he hears someone approaching. For a moment, nobody appears but then Billy Pettit and his men approaches Clark, the girl and the old man. Clark tries to speak with them but the girl warns him that they aren't police officers. Pettit is completely deranged and tries to force Clark to join him and his men to fight against everyone who opposes him. The girl is furious and attacks Pettit, causing his men to attack Clark and the old man. Pettit shoots at the girl but before the bullet can reach her, Clark uses his heat vision to stop the bullet in mid-air. At that moment, a Batarang hits Pettit and disarms him. One of Pettit's men punches Clark in the face and breaks his hand. Clark is about to fight back when he notices the batarangs and he just stays down on the floor while Batman takes care of the situation. Batman fights Pettit and his people and drives them away and then he tells the old man to get back to his home. The young girl is concerned for her mission and because she failed to obtain the information requested by Oracle about Penguin's activities. However, the girl is shocked to see Batman and after he tells her to go with the old man, she leaves Batman and Clark alone in the street.   Batman asks Clark why did he come back to Gotham and Clark explains that he overheard rumors about Locus trying to get a grip on Gotham again, but his story doesn't convince Batman. Clark admits that he is also concerned for the drought that is affecting the crops in Gotham. Clark is staring at the sky and Batman activates his infrared lenses in his cowl and realizes that Clark is using his heat vision on the sky. Suddenly both of them decide that they need to do something important and they go separate ways. For a few seconds they are gone and then they both return at the same spot they were chatting before splitting up.   Clark tells Bruce that he wants to help the people of Gotham in a different way than he did the last time he was there. Batman tells Clark that despite his good intentions, the presence of Superman in No Man's Land will destroy all the strategies he has planned to deal with the situation at hand. After discussing the situation a little more, they reach the community garden and Clark tells Batman that another reason for him to come back to Gotham was to make sure that Bruce was taking care of himself. Batman tells him that everything is fine and after that, Clark decides that Batman can take care of Gotham and that it is time to leave the city and go help the people who need him. Clark takes off his clothes and flies into the sky as Superman. Batman is left standing in the community garden among the dry plants and soil. A few moments later, it begins to rain and Batman stands there in the pouring rain, wondering how Superman was involved with the sudden rain.
